If you have any referrals from other health professionals, x-rays, scans or reports, please email them prior to your appointment or bring them along. If you don’t have any that is ok too.

No you do not require a referral as a private patient to see a Hand Therapist. You will need a referral if you are under Workcover, TAC, DVA or TCA (Medicare).

Yes, if you have Occupational Therapy cover on your insurance plan or if you are a member with BUPA you will be able to claim on the spot. Please speak to your individual Health Insurance provider to find out more about your rebate entitlements.

If your GP has referred you for a Team Care Arrangement (TCA) for Hand Therapy your appointment will be partially covered by Medicare. Please speak to your GP to find out if you might be eligible for a TCA.
